Done a podcast with some folk from GRcade:
Join Aaron, Graham, Matthew and Chris for a brief currently playing and hot picks for 2010. It’s a quick show that next week should be bigger(if some people aren’t on deadline). And was thrown together in mere minutes.

And it’s now available in iTunes, subscribe here: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=350456576

Some linky goodness for you:
- Stephen Totilo, one of the few “proper” game journalists left, announced he was leaving MTV’s Multiplayer blog to become associate editor at Kotaku, of all places. Hopefully he will actually bring some decent content worth reading to the site (rawr). He wrote a nice final piece on how he got to where he is today.
- Content on GameSpite.net, edited by 1UP’s Jeremy Parish, will now be released initially in print form as a quarterly magazine before the content is posted online. I recently bought the GameSpite book and it’s a great read, basically a compilation of articles from the site on games from A-L.
- Some whiney git moaning about how low scores for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed made him unhappy. Best not read my review of it at Peoww then, eh pal?
- 1UP’s Retronauts podcast makes a welcome return with a new format, guests include Jenn Frank <3 and discussion includes the Game Boy’s 20th anniversary and Final Fantasy remakes.
- Old, but this nice article on Starmen.net shows, other than visually, how little Mother 3 changed in it’s transition from the cancelled N64 game to the eventual release of the GBA version in 2006. I’ve just started playing the fan translation and I’ll talk about it soon.
Now time for some more Pokemon Fire Red. Oh the nostalgia and memories…

Representin’ EGM January 22, 2009

Bought this tracksuit top from eBay a while back, I’ve got to wear it more often now. Very disappointed at the closure of EGM and the lay-offs of 30-or-so staff. While I never visited the actual website much, I was a keen listener of their podcast output – particularly 1UP Yours which was by far the best gaming podcast around. Luckily however, many former employees have banded together and created a few tasty new sites:
eat. sleep. game. where you can find the spiritual successor to 1UP FM.
The Geekbox from Ryan Scott and more GFW Radi than LAN Party ever was.
Area 5 by ex-1UP Show & GameVideos staff and their new show, CO-OP, which is the 1UP Show in all but name and classic theme tune.
Low and behold the final 1UP Yours podcast is released just as I post this. Awesome.

“Only ONE WEEK between this podcast and the last – amazing. This week we talk about Rare being a shadow of their former selves, the WONDERFUL World of Warcraft and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Special guest Mr. T.”
